Sketching Latte

I sketched my dog Latte today with an ink pen, after he was groomed. I can actually see him again!! He is a Maltese x Corgi.

Day number two, and it was a busy day number two (school holidays and toilet training chaos!!), but I still just scraped in with my sketch.

Ballet shoes in graphite and colour pencil.

I don't really like bananas anyway...

Today was a bit of a strange day. Well it didn't start out that way. It was a typical Saturday: got up, ate breaky, took my daughter to ballet, washing, lunch, etc. It was around 3pm and I was doing an assignment on my computer and the ground began to shake. Not terribly bad, but enough to freak me out a bit. Who would have ever thought that Townsville in North Queensland would ever experience a 5.2 magnitude earthquake?!

Anyway, that really doesn't have anything to do with the start of this blog, but something unusual happened and later in the day I had an idea of starting a blog where I am forced (well not forced - I actually enjoy doing it) to do a sketch a day and post it on my blog. I have found that there are a number of other blogs that have the same idea, but hopefully mine may be a little bit different.

Sketching, for me, is a personal thing. I believe there is no right or wrong way to sketch. Nothing is ever bad. As long as you enjoy it, just do it.

Today my sketch is of some fruit, as I was home most of the day and thought sketching a bunch of bananas would be fun. However, my bunch was quickly wittled down to two bananas when both my daughters decided they would like to eat them. So I decided to draw a couple of bananas and an apple:

I like the look of my apple, but think that maybe the bananas got a little lost in the picture. Maybe that was my subconscious' fault as I don't really like bananas anyway.
